Our Health Service
Albury Wodonga Health is the first cross border public health service to exist in Australia. As the largest regional service between Sydney and Melbourne, it directly serves a local community of 100,000 and supports a catchment population of 300,000 covering North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales. As a rapidly growing region, AWH is undergoing significant change and investment as it strives to develop a new single site hospital with a broad spectrum of specialist clinical services.
Our Emergency Departments
The Emergency Departments in Albury and Wodonga have over 65,000 presentations per year with a 25% admission rate and paediatric presentations 25% of all presentations. Albury Wodonga Health is a Regional Trauma Referral Centre dealing with the full spectrum of Emergency Care with trauma and resuscitation. There is an amazing array of clinical presentations with high acuity and complexity.
Our team continues to develop as we move to the opening of our new emergency department with 58 points of care in 2024.
You will be joining and leading a dynamic team of FACEMs, FACCRMS and FRACGPs that are committed to the ongoing development of emergency care on the border. Our department is accredited as a training site for the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM). What are we looking for?
We are looking for a clinical leader with demonstrated :
- Leadership skills which prioritise quality, safety and risk and support continuous improvement
- Significant clinical experience in the provision of emergency medical care
- Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine or comparative postnominals
- Sound understanding of contemporary Emergency Department models of care
- An ability to lead service improvement through forms of quality improvement activities
- Developed leadership and management skills with the ability to liaise and negotiate with professional staff, the public and others
- Well-developed skills in written and verbal communication, and the ability to represent the organisation and departmental goals and policies
- Demonstrated commitment to continued personal and professional development
The successful candidate will work with the Medical Director of Emergency and Critical Care to provide clinical and professional leadership, working in collaboration with the broader leadership team.
Remuneration
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Medical Specialists (Victorian Public Health Sector)(Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2022-2026 which includes excellent support for relocation, accommodation and professional development.

About the Role
Albury Wodonga Health requires Permanent Part Time Nutrition Assistant to join our Food Services Team in our Albury Campus.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with experience in a fast-paced Food service department within a Health environment; can work in a team environment or independently, has well developed interpersonal skills and is able to work with minimal supervision.
Position Summary:
Is responsible for the efficient supervision for service of meals and mid meals to patients within the Hospital. Responsible to the Dietitians for work involving providing adequate nutrition to patients and the supervision of therapeutic diets. Responsible to the Foodservice Manger to ensure the quality and service of food served is of the highest standard.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist and consult with patients about food preferences/menu choices, acting as a liaison between patient, Nursing Staff, Foodservices personnel and Dietitian to ensure meals are acceptable to patient.
- Ensure Food Service receive set procedures/work schedules/food production reports in the rostered area of work to ensure patients receive the correct diet order
- Refer relevant patients/patient concerns to Dietitian.
- Liaise with Nursing staff on matters relating to food service.
- Responsible for admissions, discharge and diet changes/updates within the CBORD software system
- Maintain high level of hygiene both personal and food handling
- Maintain patient confidentiality

About the Role
The Business Support Officer, under the direction the Operational Director – Ovens Murray Public Health Unit (OM PHU), is responsible for the management of the administrative functions and duties to support OM PHU, Operations Director and the Clinical Director. The Business Support Officer supervises Administration Assistants, manages the High Street office and coordinates administrative, recruitment and HR activities that support the work across all areas of the Public Health Unit. Business Support Officer, in collaboration with the OM PHU leadership team and key stakeholders, provides an integrated catchment wide service response
We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
- Demonstrated experience in office administration, preferably with experience coordinating multiple sites, with a strong customer service orientation.
- High level computer skills with sound knowledge of the Microsoft environment, including Excel, Work and Outlook applications, and ability to adapt to new information systems and manage data requests and data reporting.
- Demonstrated high level organisation skills, ability to prioritise workloads and work independently within a diverse team environment.
- Ability to adapt to change, working in a complex environment and committed to continuous quality improvement to enhance service delivery

The Opportunity
The role of the HMO is to assist in the clinical management of patients and undertake clinical duties for the respective work area under the supervision and direction of the Clinical Director, other Specialist and or Training Supervisors.
The HMO role suits someone who is keen to further enhance their clinical and procedural skills, in a vibrant learning environment in various specialities. Rotations are available including Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, General Medicine and Mental Health; we will look to support any interests or preferences.
Career pathways beyond PGY2 are also available in key specialties supported by Albury Wodonga Health, and we have a supportive IMG program in place.
If you are an IMG we need you to have completed AMC Part 1 and 2.
